HOW TO USE BLIND SHELF SUPPORTS:
- STEP 1: Place your first hidden bracket against the wall, using a spirit level to make sure it’s level. Mark the fixing-hole positions with a pencil.
- STEP 2: Using the pencil marks, drill holes into the wall. Always choose screws or fittings that are suitable for the material of your wall. Screw the bracket into place.
- STEP 3: Slide the shelf onto the bracket to check that it’s level (use the spirit level to make sure). Once you’re happy with the position of this shelf and the way it looks,
slide it back off the bracket so that you can position the rest of the brackets. - STEP 4: Once all the brackets are in place,
slide the shelves on and fix into place with the small screws provided with the shelf, using the pre-drilled holes on the underside of each shelf.

It took some planning as to how to measure and install but turned out really good. It was a 2 man job to make sure they were level and mark the bracket holes at the same time. I used blue tape to mark where each shelf would go and to mark the holes.

IЃfm not deducting for the anchors because itЃfs a fair price without them?and these should be screwed into studs with heavy duty #10 construction (structural) screws anyway. Zero complaints.These are made of heavy metal, and having individual brackets letЃfs you control their placement (as opposed to the bar-type hidden brackets that are fixed-width), allowing you to hit studs, even if the studs are not evenly spaced.I also didnЃft deduct for the shelves not fitting flush, because all floating shelf brackets strong enough to bear weight require chiseling out indentations around each hole to accommodate the mounting plate. ItЃfs the nature of the beast. If the metal was thin enough to allow the shelf to be flush without chiseling, it would bend and pop off the wall with the load! Physics.Tips:?the thickness of the shelf needs to be minimum 2x__ stock (E.g., 2×6, 2×8, etc). These wonЃft work with 3/4Ѓh thick shelves.?One should (almost never) use drywall anchors included with *any* product. Plastic anchors donЃft work unless your mounting feathers. (Or smoke detectors. ;P)?There is only one drywall anchor on the market I would consider for any heavy, load-bearing application like shelving or TV mounts: Wingits. TheyЃfre rated at 300lbs per anchor and they are the real deal. IЃfve done a whole-wall adjustable shelving system in an old house where I was only able to hit a single stud over a 10Ѓf span. Used Wingits for the uprights and itЃfs rock solid, holding hundreds of pounds of books for a bibliophile. Even large toggle bolts will fail eventually under heavy load. DonЃft do it. Toggles donЃft prevent downward shear, and will pop out under heavy load leaving a big hole in your drywall. If you use Wingits, buy their drill bit?success depends on a perfect hole.Hope this helps.
