These were easy to install. I was replacing failing 10 year old units. Since I was replacing, there was no need for instructions. However, if these were new, then the instructions would be an issue. They are printed on the bag. The type is incredibly small and only meant for those with exceptional vision. Otherwise grab a magnifying glass. Also note that the dimensions shown on the instructions are in millimeters. So there’s that too.

Like others have said, the instructions are a bit weird. The first one took me 30 min to install, reinstall, install, reinstall, install. The second one took <5 minutes. Just follow the pictures…the text is confusing. Measure the distance needed from the borders. Attach the plates by themselves. Then hook up the arm, and done!

Holds open. Sturdy. Pretty easy to install and figure out how they worked. Used to on a small wooden toy chest and was I guess too heavy for the soft close feature.

Hinges were easy to install but instructions were tiny and difficult to read. Biggest issue is adjustment of soft close.. Allen wrench included but not obvious how to adjust. This is on a toy box with 3/4″ plywood lid. The two hinges hold it open but don’t slow closing enough. Weight estimate is about 15 pounds.

I bought these to hold the lid open on a toybox I built for my soon to arrive little girl. As lid stays, I can’t find any fault with these. Open the lid, and these will keep it up until you want it shut. The “soft close” part in the description may be a bit misleading. Have been unable to find a spot on the tension adjust (resistance adjust? Would have to pull it apart to see what is happening inside) where the lid will soft close. They’re almost tightened all the way, and the lid still his a point where it just freefalls for about 8 inches. It’s not a heavy lid, and I figured I would only need one of them. Looking back, I still only needed one, as adding the second one didn’t change the closing strength at all.
