Holds open. Sturdy. Pretty easy to install and figure out how they worked. Used to on a small wooden toy chest and was I guess too heavy for the soft close feature.

I have used these on two toy boxes and they work pretty good. My only concern is that they drop the lid when it¡¯s about 80% down. I put a rubber spacer on the lids so as to not squish little fingers.

It was not a snug fit. Even with the plastic grommet the screw is to long and does keep it tight.

Hinges were easy to install but instructions were tiny and difficult to read. Biggest issue is adjustment of soft close.. Allen wrench included but not obvious how to adjust. This is on a toy box with 3/4″ plywood lid. The two hinges hold it open but don’t slow closing enough. Weight estimate is about 15 pounds.

leaving something to be desired is an understatement. Thankfully, there is youtube. Once I figured out how to attach the bolts with the rubber washers to the hinge itself, it was pretty easy to install, but it would’ve been nice to have some grammatically correct instructions that actually made sense. I only had to use one hinge for my enclosed litter box for the kitties. The hing is very sturdy and works really smoothly. Really nice purchase once you figure out the assembly/install.

I wish they came in black or bronze, I hate chrome finishings, they look so cheap, and I’m afraid spray painting it will make it not work well with the bearings if any paint gets inside.
