These pull/lift up hinges worked perfectly for me. As some of the other reviews had mentioned, the pair was not perfectly aligned (and one of the hinges stays closed without weight but the other doesn’t), but once mounted in my homemade liquor cabinet, they worked just fine.Mine were 13″ long when fully closed and about 4″ deep and ~1″ wide. Installation is a lot easier if the back/base of whatever you’re installing into is open. Just flip the base onto the door/table top with the hinges ziptied shut and then get the hinges situated where you want it and screw them in. Couple of the holes won’t be accessable until after you open it back up, at which point you can finish screwing the base in. I used #8 x 1/2″ self drilling wood screws to mount the hinges into 1″ (.75″ actual) pine. Also, for those wondering, the hinges will remain closed even when mounted vertically, provided the door is heavy enough. I’ve got .75″x 16.5″ x 24″ of pine and that was heavy enough to keep the pistons/hinges closed. The piston action is nice and smooth, too, when opening and closing it from the middle of the door. Comes out about 5 inches and up 10.

Folding brackets were easy to install. They feel like they¡¯ll last for the project we used them for. Pretty straightforward on the instructions, which is very nice. For the price they get the job done.

This was a great solution to raise and extend my propane stove/grill to a comfortable working height, while still allowing it to stow neatly below the bench. This is best suited for heavy, immobile furniture. The pneumatics are strong, so it¡¯s a bit tricky to get them into down position. Also, whatever you¡¯re lifting has to have enough weight to hold it down, otherwise it could pop open from stowed if you look at it wrong.I did have some difficulty finding suitable hardware to mount this without a box frame, because the base is designed to mount against vertical sides rather than a horizontal surface, but I finally found some 3/4¡± corner brackets that kept the profile low enough to still fit below the bench.

I used these brackets to make a coffee table out of an old dining room table. It lifts up the top and holds it well but with the weight of lifting a full sized table top it is more than the bracket pair is designed to move so it¡¯s a little delicate to get it to move between coffee table height and dining table height but it works. I plan on adding another pair of brackets to make the lifting/lowering action easier.

I used these to convert an ottoman into a storage box.. Probably would of been better just to make the top lift off but then the dogs would of gotten in it.. They are sturdy for what they are made for and work so-so for what I used them for.. I wouldn’t think twice about getting them for some other weird project.. they’re good..
