I converted a coffee table to a charcutier table. Very sturdy and holds firm.

The lifting bracket does the job, and has enough power to keep a 2×4.5 foot, 3/4th inc thick solid white oak coffee top up. The spring/piston mechanism is, but you do have to watch your fingers as it tends to slam down at the end. The major downside is when drilling and screwing in the top bracket. The holes are aligned nearly directly over the piston rod, so it’s difficult to put even 0.5 inch screws into the table top, much less have room for the screw driver.

Love these lift top hinges. Built a coffee table and wanted the added benefit of having storage for blankets. My wife loves blankets.To install them I first laid out the table top upside down, then placed the frame of the table on it. I predrilled and mounted screws. The top is easy to open with maybe 5 pounds of force. Closing is easy as well with maybe 10 pounds of force needed.When open or shut the table top is solid with no wiggle side to side.

For the price and functionality it¡¯s a good product. It was very easy to install. I was concerned when the pair arrived because one wasn¡¯t pressurized and one was over pressurized and very tough to open and close by hand maybe this is how they are all supposed to be because when I installed it that difference in pressure wasn¡¯t an issue and seemed to help with supporting the weight of a 2¡¯ x 2¡¯ thick piece of plywood. I do think it could be smoother to lift up and down but for the price and that it still works well I really don¡¯t mind and it deserves 5 stars.

I recommend buying this product, but there is a very real possibility that your door may not be heavy enough to keep the hinges in the closed position. The gas piston portion of hinges are fairly strong, which is the reason the hinges come tie-wrapped in the closed position.In my case, my 18″ x 18″ x 3/4″ (H x W x D) plywood door, wasn’t heavy enough to keep the hinges in the closed position. I was able to use two 98 cent roller catches (purchased from a local Home Depot) to fix the problem. See the attached images for where I located the roller catches, in order to allow the door to stay shut plus be opened from the top, bottom or sides.

I used these to convert an ottoman into a storage box.. Probably would of been better just to make the top lift off but then the dogs would of gotten in it.. They are sturdy for what they are made for and work so-so for what I used them for.. I wouldn’t think twice about getting them for some other weird project.. they’re good..

Sturdy and easy to lift and close. Holds a 42″x22″x0.75″ solid oak tabletop steady and easily without closing. Side brackets sit a couple inches below the top edge, so the full hight lift is a little shorter than listed. Would buy again for my next woodworking project.
